This thermometer is made of 18 ga steel. The hand-polished surface of the metal is colored by various chemicals and also metal dyes. After the color is complete, the piece is sealed with a clear coat of paint. The translucent colors change and move with the light as it reflects from different areas of the shining metal. This thermometer is approximately 6 1/2 inches tall and 13 inches wide.
